P90X2 is coming this fall!!!  We are all very excited – and to get ready for it, we’re doing P90X!  :)

Cost is free for the general public ($2 for Beachbody Coaches)

Active Duty Military – FREE

Huge news just in from Beachbody:  All active duty military (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines & Coast Guard), and their spouses can sign up for their Beachbody Coaching business for free!  Business fees are waived.  This is an awesome opportunity for our military to share the mission of Beachbody, to end the trend of obesity by offering the great workouts and supplements and make a little (or a lot) of  money on the side.

Losing weight

Trying to lose weight?

Time:  It takes time, it takes work, and it takes dedication.  Please, please, please don’t fall for the commercials that say, “If you haven’t seen results, come let us do surgery to get rid of the weight.”  Sure, you may lose some weight, but if you didn’t have the discipline to lose weight slowly, and correctly, then you’re not going to have the discipline to keep the weight off that they cut off of you.

Procrastination: Don’t put off tomorrow what you should be doing today!  You aren’t getting any younger, and you aren’t adding any more time to your schedule.  Just like our finances, when we were younger, we were told to save and invest.  Then after 10-20 years go by, you say something like, “If I would have saved starting back then…”  It is the same with health and fitness, except it can be easier to lose weight and get healthy than it can to earn money.  Either way, don’t put it off another day. Make a plan and take action now!  In 10 years, you will DEFINITELY be glad you didn’t wait.

Determination:  Think about the reasons you want to change your life.  You have to remind yourselves about it constantly.  Before you eat something, before you sit down to watch tv, or before you get sucked into the computer when you should be resting.  Your “why” has to be big enough to make you want to change.  Do you want to have more energy to better enjoy your life?  Do you want to be healthy to see your children and grandchildren grow?  Do you want to look good for an event coming up?  Post pictures or reminders around your house, car or office.  Enlist some friends and family for support.  Make your choices based on your goals.

The list could go on, but I’ll stop for now.  Take these tips into consideration, and make them a habit.  Come back later for more!

Change Your Perspective

We’ve heard it before – No excuses!  Well, usually that means, stop making excuses for why you can’t do something.  Let’s turn that around.  Let’s start making excuses!

No, I haven’t lost my mind.  Follow me.

When we aren’t happy with our body image, we “want” to make changes, but we make excuses for why we can’t succeed.

It’s time for a change!  Start making excuses for why you need to do things to get to where you want to be.  What is your goal?  Let’s take getting fit, healthy, and losing weight (because that applies to the majority of you that read my blogs).  When you’re faced with your friends or family asking you to go out for ice cream, tell them (and yourself) that you can’t tonight because you have a date with the gym.  “So sorry, but you can join me if you’d like.”    When it’s 8pm and your favorite tv show comes on, tell the star, “I can’t watch you tonight because I have to take care of my body tonight.”  Then pop in your favorite workout DVD.  Whatever “excuse” you usually use for NOT doing something, find the opposite excuse for why you SHOULD do something – and go with it!

Start living a happier, healthier life, using excuses that lead you to your goals.

Mindy Lawhorne heats up San Antonio

Last night, Turbo Jam’s “modifier”, Mindy Lawhorne, came to San Antonio and lead an awesome Turbo Kick workout! She had us sweating, burning up to 1,000 calories, and loving every minute of it! As a Beachbody Coach, Fitness Instructor, Powder Blue Area Promotions Director, Certification Instructor, and more, Mindy’s passion is helping others both in fitness and business.

We were so blessed to have her come out and share her abilities and knowledge with us. Fortunately, if you missed this event, you’ll get another chance. She’s coming back in July 2011. Whether you want to become an instructor, just get a good workout, or find out more about Beachbody and the products & opportunities they offer, this is the place to be. Details will be posted once finalized.
